Winter Wonderland

It is currently 3 degrees here in Provo, and that's about 70 degrees too cold for me :)  As much as I love December, and Christmas and snow and all that wintery stuff, I cannot stand being cold.  And it's cold; like icicles-form-in-your-nostrils-as-you-walk-to-school cold.  All I can say is that it's a good thing there is snow, because cold is pointless without snow.

Seattle Forest

On a walk in the forest in Issaquah, Washington last week.  Makes me want to move there so bad!  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday!

These little beauties are still fighting the winter weather outside my door :)

Harrison

I took this picture of my nephew a year ago.  He is hilarious and getting so old all the time, I'm so glad he lives somewhat nearby so I can see him from time to time!  I love being an aunt!

Huff Family

Fall Family pictures!  The weather was really perfect on Thursday which was great because it had stormed all week, but for the Huff family to get their pictures taken the clouds dispersed.  Such a fun family and cute little girls!  Thanks for letting me take these!
Here's a sneak peek!

Provo Bakery

There are few things that can get me out of bed at 6:30 am and one of them is a great photo opportunity.  The other happens to be donuts!  I spent an hour at the Provo Bakery this morning documenting this group of dedicated individuals who were already hours into their day by the time I arrived.  I love pastries as much as the next person but it takes a lot of...something...to get up at 2 am to frost donuts and bake cookies for the next 15 hours!  The bakers at Provo Bakery are clearly very talented and also have a lot of fun together.  It might be that they are all so tired they have to laugh not to go crazy, but whatever the reason, I had a blast and smelled like donuts the rest of the morning (not complaining!)  Here's a little glimpse into the kitchen!

Look at all that extra icing!  That's my kind of kitchen!

Baby Joshua

I can honestly say that I haven't laughed so hard during a photo shoot as I did today with the Huffs.  Little Joshua is just so sweet and cute and boy did he makes some memorable messes!  Sorry Huffs about your chair, and couch, and new carpet, and your t-shirts!  The pictures turned out well though! :)  Take a gander at this tender little boy:

Baby Rachel

Did some pictures for the Lunds today, and Rachel was so funny!  When I got there she was fast asleep but the moment Laura put her down so I could start photographing, she was wide awake and very aware that she was no longer in her mother's arms!  It took a little persuading but she eventually turned out some very lovely looks (although her best smiles came after a diaper change!)

Did I mention she has the prettiest blue eyes???  Thank you Jesse and Laura for letting me take these, it was fun and she is such a doll!!!

Los Hermanos

Did some work for a local restaurant, Los Hermanos, located on Center Street in Provo.  Seems like a great place to eat, had lots of different dining areas and fun music.  The garden room was really pretty, it offers of view of Center and University and is covered in vegetation and has a running fountain in the middle.

I was kind of hoping they would package some of this food up and send it home with me, but my hopes were in vain.  Looks delish though!

Sitting

Plant sitting this weekend makes me want plants for our place.

Deer Valley

Went hiking in Deer Valley this past week and boy was it fun!  Got some good nature shots which I don't usually get a lot of (because, as we say in my family, "I HATE NATURE"  hahaha...just kidding!).  I wasn't really raised to be "outdoor-sy" but I'm trying to make up for it.  LOVE NATURE and loved this beautiful old stump I found hiking one chilly morning!

Mmm...

More food from the last two receptions I did for Magleby's.  They were on the same night and I was running up and down the stairs from wedding reception to wedding reception! It was crazy but so fun!  They do a really great job with their displays and their food is always so colorful, it just LOOKS delicious.  I really loved the cakes too, very classy and I think very telling of the rest of the decor and receptions.  Enjoy!

I am not a fan of hamburgers, but aren't those the cutest things ever?!?!?!  And such festive cheeses :)  Ok, I'm done gushing about food right now.  Till next time!

Magleby's

I took some pictures last Saturday for Magleby's Catering.  I got to go to the wedding reception and it was absolutely fantastic!  It was held at the Sleepy Ridge Golf Club in Orem (fancy!) and the entertainment was phenomenal! It was really pretty and the food all looked amazing (the "cake" is my favorite)!  Here's a peek:

Paella

To jump start my food photography, here's a picture I took last summer working for Mariachi.  Paella and wine.  To the Spanish, there is no better meal.  Except maybe some jamón serrano or a nice tortilla de patatas.  Which sounds really delicious right now so maybe I'll go whip one up :)

Back to Blog!

Well, it's been forever (or so it seems) since we've had internet access so I'm just getting around to updating some things and it seemed like the perfect time to return to my blog!  Hopefully I'll be doing some more freelance stuff this summer (I'm helping out Magleby's catering now!) and uploading those for you but for the time being, here's a fun picture that I took in St. Thomas this June!

Brock and I get to go home to DC in less than two weeks!  We are very excited, it's gonna be good times.  Maybe we'll get to say hi to Abe again; last time we were there it was his 200th birthday...hence the flowered wreaths.

Great

This past weekend a bunch of friends went up to Park City and it was great.  Great food, great music, great games, great sleep and great friends.  Life is pretty great!  Now if only finals were over.....:)
